Family Pottery Course | Half day

Service Description

This 3-hour course is designed for children and adults to work together. During the workshop you will use a variety of hand modelling techniques to create a creature from clay, a small pot and have a go on the pottery wheel. Techniques by hand will include rolling, joining, blending, shaping, thumb pot making and coiling. During the throwing session on the wheel, you be shown how to centre the clay, open it and make it taller. Help will be provided to remove it from the wheel head. By the end of the class, it is hoped that you will have completed at least one piece of work from each technique . Your pots will be biscuit fired and you will have the option of booking into the service - Glaze and Decorate your Pots, to colour them.. Your pots are usually ready to pick up within two months, varying on conditions. Arrangements will be made via email. Max Class size is 6 people, different generations are all welcome. Price includes all materials and the biscuit firing. We do provide aprons, but you are welcome to bring your own. Please wear appropriate clothing and remove any hand/wrist jewellery as it is messy. Please bring your own refreshments. One adult and child is £95. When paying for the course at the checkout please count an adult and a child as 1 place or you may be asked to pay more.
